Welcome to the homepage for the Old Village School (aka Wells River Graded School) in Wells River, Vermont. Built in 1874 as an outstanding representation of French Second Empire architecture, the old school served the Wells River and Newbury communities until 1967, when the school officially closed. In 1976, the Wells River Graded School was entered into the National Register of Historic Places, and in the years since the school closed, the building has been used as a radio station, a probate court, law offices, a retail store and residential apartments.

In 2008, Paul & Joy Fichiera of Newbury, Vermont purchased the schoolhouse and began the process of renovating the interior of the building in an effort to revitalize the original character of the interior space. The renovation project has paved the way for numerous wellness-oriented businesses to take up space in the old school. These business are serving the Upper Valley in a variety of ways, including yoga, pilates, tai chi, reiki and massage.
